TechClub is a platform where we are introducing coding/Computer Programming to Children.
Course 1: Basics of Scratch programming
What is Scratch?
Scratch is an Event-driven, block-based visual programming. It helps younger children to code and understand basics of programming. For more information visit https://scratch.mit.edu/
Course curriculum
Introduction to scratch - 1 session
Working with Arts - sprites, scenes, narrative, sounds, looks, conversations - 2 sessions
Computational concepts - sequence of loops, controls, events - 2 sessions
Project - Storytelling using all the concepts learnt - 3 sessions

Fees
£6 per session.
What should your child bring to the sessions:
- Laptop : Any laptop that is currently in use
- Very important: Install Scratch offline version. For more details https://scratch.mit.edu/download
- Login : Provide a simple username and password to the laptop (either by changing existing login credentials or create a new user with simple password) that your child could remember.
- Power Adapter: Kindly ensure Laptop is fully charged. We may have limited power supply ports in the classroom.
- Notebook and pencil/pen.
Term Dates and Time:
Saturdays at 2:30 to 3:30pm starting from 18th January till 21st March 2020.
No session
on 15th and 22nd February due to term holidays.

Course 2: Python programming
What is Python?
Python is an interpreted, high-level, general-purpose programming language.

Course curriculum
1. Introduction to Python, IDLE and your first program- 1 session
2. Some text, some maths and looping - 2 sessions
3. Readable code and building a game to learn conditions, comments, variables and run a code - 2 sessions
4. Functions, modules, operators - 2 sessions
5. Fun Building an application - 1 session and try yourself
Fees
£8 per session.
What should your child bring to the sessions:
1. Laptop : Any laptop that is currently in use
